Why The Same Product Name Can Have Different Formulas
A consistent product should mean a consistent formula, regardless of which page you order from. When it doesn't, that's worth understanding before you buy.
Here's what formula inconsistency across sales pages usually signals, and how to check for it.
Legitimate reasons a formula might change
Occasionally, a manufacturer genuinely reformulates a product over time — discontinuing one ingredient, adding another, usually announced with a version number or clear update notice. This is normal and not inherently concerning if disclosed.
Less legitimate reasons
Multiple unrelated sellers using the same trending brand name without a single manufacturer coordinating the formula, sometimes deliberately, to capture search traffic from a popular product name.
White-label drop-shipping arrangements where different marketing “fronts” source capsules from different suppliers under one recognizable brand, with no quality-control coordination between them.
Deliberate obfuscation, in more serious cases, designed to make it harder for regulators or consumer-protection researchers to pin down exactly what's being sold and by whom.
How to check before you buy
1. Search the product name plus ‘ingredients’ across multiple review sites and compare what you find. If different sources report different formulas, that's your answer.
2. Screenshot the specific ingredient list on the page you're ordering from before checkout, so you have a record to compare against what actually arrives.
3. Look for a single, identifiable manufacturer with consistent contact information across the sites using the brand name.
What this doesn't mean
It doesn't automatically mean every product with this pattern is fraudulent. It means the brand name alone isn't a reliable signal of what you'll receive, and extra verification is warranted.
How this applies here
Independent reviews of IQHoney-branded products have documented at least three structurally different formulas advertised under this name. See our full formula audit for the comparison.
